Dry weather and warmth will start off the new week, but unsettled weather will return soon after for Germany.
Late on Saturday, wet weather will move to the east, allowing for drying conditions. High pressure moving in from France will keep this weather around into the second half of the weekend on Sunday.
"It will be a generally pleasant day across Germany on Sunday," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
This high pressure will also usher in warmer air for Sunday, allowing for afternoon temperatures to top out around 20 C (upper 60s F), just above normal for late-May.
However, at the same time, a storm system will cross the United Kingdom and head to Scandinavia. This will bring a change in the weather pattern for Germany for the middle and end of the week.
"A cold front will move across western and central Germany on Tuesday," Roys added.
"The heat, along with the increased humidity and instability will spark thunderstorms across much of the country."
While thunderstorms will occur mainly in the morning for places in western Germany like Dusseldorf, thunderstorms are possible anytime from Lower Saxony to Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria. Afternoon thunderstorms could reach Saxony-Anhalt, but Berlin and northeastern Germany will mostly likely remain warm and dry.

At this time, these storms are not expected to be severe, but they could contain downpours that could cause minor travel delays.
Increased cloud cover, along with periods of showers and thunderstorms throughout the middle of the week will bring temperatures down, and closer to normal, for Wednesday.
This system will be slow to move on, allowing for unsettled weather into the latter half of the week.
