Despite a very warm start to April, it will feel more like winter than spring across Germany this week.
Cold air and snow settled over Germany early this week, and the chill is expected to last through the weekend.
Snow will continue to fall across southern Germany into Wednesday as cold air continues to funnel across the country.

“As temperatures fall into Wednesday morning, snow will accumulate at all elevations,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
“Accumulations of 2-8 cm (1-3 inches) are possible on non-paved surfaces in and around Munich,” added Roys.
There is a concern that the wet snow could cause tree damage and increase the threat for localized power outages and travel delays.

Even areas that do not get snowfall will feel the cold as temperatures tumble below freezing across most of Germany Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
Another cold day is expected on Thursday before milder air makes a brief return on Friday.
Temperatures will tumble once again this weekend as a cold front brings showers and chilly air from Scandinavia.
Additional rounds of cold air are expected to invade Germany through the rest of April resulting in no extended periods of warmth.
