A stormy weather pattern unfolding across Europe this week will lead to showers and gusty winds sweeping into Germany on a daily basis.
Showers and breezy conditions dropping into northern Germany on Sunday will be a preview of what the country can expect for the new week.
“A series of fronts will move across Germany from Monday into Wednesday,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Richards said. “These fronts will bring rounds of showers and gusty winds.”
The showers are likely to be most numerous across northern Germany. Gusty winds accompanying each round of showers could make holding onto an umbrella challenging in Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin.

“The northern coast of the country could have wind gusts of 64 km/h (40 mph) on Monday,” Richards said.
More of northern Germany could face similar gusts at midweek as a more potent front arrives. There may even be gusts to 96 km/h (60 mph) toward and along the northern coast.
Winds of this magnitude could lead to sporadic power outages and tree damage with rough seas endangering small craft along the northern coast.
Widespread heavy rain and flooding are not anticipated. However, the heaviest showers could lead to a period of reduced visibility and wet roads for motorists. Airline passengers could face minor delays.

The front at midweek is likely to produce a steadier band of rain.
The one advantage of the stormier weather is that cold will be absent. A mild flow from the Atlantic Ocean will keep temperatures above normal through the first half of next week. However, the gusty winds would work to hold AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures below actual highs.
Far southern Germany will be drier during the first half of next week with only one or two showers sneaking down to Munich and Stuttgart, mainly on Tuesday.
A turn to stormier conditions should come to southern Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria later next week as the storm track, rain and gusty winds shift southward. That may also open the door for chillier air to sweep across the country.
