Karl Moving Away From Bermuda; Tropical Storm Warning Discontinued

Karl is s strong tropical storm that passed just to the east of Bermuda. Karl will then curve northeastward into the open Atlantic Ocean and become post tropical by Monday.
As of late Saturday morning, Karl was centered about 125 miles northeast of Bermuda, and Karl is moving northeastward at 18 mph. Thunderstorms and heavy rain occurred at Bermuda International Airport, along with a wind gust to 43 mph.

Current Storm Information
The tropical storm warning that was is in effect for Bermuda has been discontinued and conditions continue to improve there.

Wind shear has relaxed, allowing Karl to intensify. Warmer ocean waters may also assist in helping Karl to gain some steam.

Projected Path
Karl will turn toward the northeast later today as it moves into the open waters of the North Atlantic Ocean.
(FORECAST: Bermuda)
High surf will continue over the weekend, along with dangerous rip currents.
Karl is no threat to the U.S., other than the possible generation of some larger swells reaching the East Coast.
