WeatherWhys for October 28,2015 from accuweather.com

The Northeast got an early taste of winter around Halloween four years ago as a historic nor'easter unfolded. New York City and other cities shattered October snow records with the highest snow totals elsewhere across the Northeast, exceeding 2 feet. Peru, Massachusetts, topped the storm's snowfall totals list with 32.0 inches. New York City's Central Park measured 2.9 inches on Oct. 29, marking the first time since records began in 1869 that the city had an inch or more of snow on an October day.
