Harrisburg: Heat, Humidity to Come Back Into Next Week

Heat and humidity will return to Harrisburg this weekend and hang on into next week.
As a dome of high pressure shifts off the East Coast, southerly winds will usher higher temperatures and more moisture into the area.

Sunny skies will allow daily high temperatures to trend upward from the middle 80s to the low 90s into next week.

Despite these increases, the the vast majority of the time this weekend will remain free of rain.
"The air will gradually begin to feel more humid, especially compared to how comfortable it's been lately," stated AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek.

"Rain will avoid much of the area," Dombek said. "However, a pop-up shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, especially late in the weekend."
Sunny skies and a low chance of rain will be ideal for the those planning outdoor activities.
At the beginning of next week, the athletes competing in the U.S. Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., will have to contend with temperatures in the low 90s.
This summery pattern is likely to continue through next week with highs generally ranging from the middle 80s to the lower 90s. However, the track of Erika could have some impact on other weather systems in the Eastern states.
There may be an uptick in shower and thunderstorm activity as the week progresses.
