The warm and humid weekend in Dover, Delaware, may end on a stormy note, possibly affecting Sunday's NASCAR race.
This weekend's NASCAR race is being held at Dover International Speedway on Sunday afternoon with the green flag scheduled to drop at 1 p.m. EDT.
However, Mother Nature may interfere with Sunday's race at the Monster Mile.

An approaching storm system will bring more clouds to Dover on Sunday with the threat of a shower or thunderstorm during the race.

Fortunately, a prolonged steady rain is not expected and most of the afternoon will be dry. This means that after the shower or storm ends, NASCAR should have plenty of time to dry the track and continue the race.

Fans in the grandstands should be mindful of the weather and leave the grandstands if a thunderstorm is approaching.
Almost three years ago, one person was killed and nine others were injured by a lightning strike at Pocono Raceway when a thunderstorm moved in after the race ended.
