Yet another round of frigid arctic air will settle across the Pittsburgh area as the last week of February begins.
Hats, gloves and winter coats will be the common attire for people around the city on Monday and Tuesday with daytime temperatures in the single digits on Monday and in the 20s on Tuesday.
This is well below the normal high of 41 F.
Monday's high will actually be recorded prior to sunrise, when temperatures will be falling through the teens.

Monday night is expected to bring the lowest temperatures during this arctic blast with temperatures challenging the current record low of 2 below zero set in 1914.

The rebound in temperatures on Tuesday will precede a storm system that will return snow showers to the area on Wednesday.
Wednesday's snow showers will not bring substantial accumulations, but enough snow could fall to create slick travel.
Dry and bitterly cold weather will then follow for Thursday.
