Seattle will ring in the new year with calm skies but chillier conditions.
Temperatures will hover in the 40s into late in the week, colder than normal for this time of the year. Rain should not play a factor into any New Year's Eve celebrations for those heading out to countdown the start of 2015.

As the rest of the week draws to close, clouds and showers will return to the region.
By Saturday, temperatures will level out to the mid-40s, closer to typical seasonal temperatures for this time of year, according to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel.

Skies will become cloudier as well with intermittent sunshine at times.
By Sunday, rain could dampen the area. Showers will continue into the start of next week.
Temperatures should trend closer to the low 50s by Tuesday.
