Progressively colder conditions are in the offing for Washington, D.C., during the last days of 2014 and December and into the start of 2015.
High temperatures will trend downward through the 40s and 30s F through the middle of the week.
The average high for the end of December is in the middle 40s.
For the many people who will be venturing out on New Year's Eve, temperatures at midnight will be in the lower 30s with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures likely to be in the middle 20s.

For those traveling to sporting events or partaking in outdoor activities through New Years day in the region, the weather should not throw any snowballs this way.
Moisture streaming northeastward from the Gulf of Mexico will bring episodes of rain into Tuesday morning. There is a slight chance that wet snowflakes mix in before the rain moves off on Tuesday. However, no accumulation is expected.
Generally dry conditions are forecast from Tuesday through Friday.
