A strong low pressure system will approach the West Coast on Monday, while a separate system will shift across the upper Midwest.
An area of low pressure will move eastward over the upper Midwest on Monday. This system will usher light to moderate showers across the upper Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes, while light, scattered snow showers will trail this system over the northern high Plains. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend south southwestward over the central and southern Plains. As this cold front shifts eastward, showers and thunderstorms will develop over the upper Midwest, the middle Mississippi Valley and the central Plains. Conditions will remain mostly clear across the southern Plains and the Intermountain West.

Early morning and late evening snow showers will be possible across the higher elevations of the Cascades. Pleasant weather will also persist across the Eastern Seaboard on Monday. Temperatures are forecast to range between the 50s and 60s over New England and the Mid-Atlantic, while temperatures will range between the 70s and 80s across the Southeast.
