Snow associated with an incredibly powerful storm off the Eastern Seaboard continued across far eastern New England and parts of Atlantic Canada through today and into the early evening.
Areas from Cape Cod, Mass. to Portland, Maine, including, Boston and Portsmouth, N.H., were among the regions that experienced blizzard conditions.
More than 7,000 customers were without power in Massachusetts at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to NSTAR.
Blizzard conditions impacted Cape Cod, Down East Maine and parts of Nova Scotia.
As the storm travels north, strong winds will accompany the storm, causing severe drifting of snow and likely creating limited visibility and treacherous travel conditions on the roadways.
Downed power lines and trees are also likely, as strong wind gusts will accompany the storm.

Upon departing the United States, the heaviest snow of the storm will move into the Maritimes and western Newfoundland accompanied by hurricane-force winds.

6:01 p.m. EDT Wednesday: High winds will remain in Boston throughout the evening, according to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards. Winds of 35-45 mph hit the city late this afternoon as a structure fire raged, injuring at least 18 people including firefighters, according to the Boston Globe.4:40 p.m. EDT Wednesday: National flight delays surpass 2,500, with an additional 415 in cancellations, according to FlightStats.
4:03 p.m. EDT Wednesday: Wind gusts of 102 mph (165 km/hr) reported at Grand Étang, Nova Scotia due to the blizzard impacting areas in New England and Canada.
3:27 p.m. EDT Wednesday: Due to wind, ground delays remain in effect for departure traffic to LaGuardia, Teterboro, Boston Gen. Edward Lawrence Logan, Newark and Philadelphia International airports, according to the FAA

"Gusty, cold winds will persist across New England through tonight. Snow will taper off across southeastern Massachusetts through this evening, while snow will slowly taper off across Maine later tonight. The blizzard will continue to rage across Atlantic Canada through tonight."

4 pm... Darker clouds retreat southward, sun brightens through overcast. Yellowish overcast and spotty blue skies visible towards northwest.
I think its going to be a third or 4th near miss in a row.

After fading behind cirrustratus /altostratus clouds, the sun is now dangerous to look at. Its bright and sunny in Newark/NYC. Looks like a very hazy summer sun strugglung to cast shadows.
No cirrocumulus, altocumulus, mackerel, or any cumulus clouds. IN OTHER WORDS, A BONE DRY AIR MASS. Radar shows it clearly, as everything breaks up north of Delaware.
