Cold weather will dominate the Philadelphia area through Friday.
Temperatures are projected to average 15 to 25 degrees below the normal high of 47 F for late February.
The city and much of the Northeast are forecast to be in for long-duration wintry precipitation beginning later this weekend.

Rounds of snow, ice and rain may continue into Monday and Tuesday of next week. Another push of cold air will follow.
The details on the storm, timing and which forms of precipitation are likely to dominate will follow in the days ahead.
Until then, episodes of snow will generally be light and more of a nuisance.
