High Winds, Rain to Haunt Halloween Activities in Cleveland

In addition to trick-or-treaters, stormy weather will haunt the Cleveland area Halloween evening.
A potent storm affecting the middle of the nation at midweek will bring high winds and episodes of rain to Ohio Thursday into Thursday night.
Expect leaves to be scattered and some trash cans knocked over in the mayhem.
However, conditions could be dangerous for outdoor masquerade activities Thursday evening. Tree limbs and power lines may be knocked down. Loose objects can become airborne.
The combination of rain and fallen leaves can lead to poor drainage area flooding and slippery secondary roads and sidewalks.

Winds will be quite strong and potentially damaging. Gusts reaching 60 mph are possible.
The winds could cause flight delays and, when combined with rounds of rain, can pose a challenge to say the least for commuters Thursday night into Friday morning.

The storm and its south to southwesterly winds will bring in warmer air into the end of the week, before chilling winds from the west kick in following the storm over the weekend. Snow showers can return to the mountains over the weekend.
