NYC Labor Day Weekend: Warm, Wet at Times

Warm and humid conditions will prevail in the New York City area through Labor Day. However, storms may come calling on a few occasions.
High temperatures will be in the 80s each day with nighttime lows in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.
After downpours Wednesday, much of Thursday, Friday and Saturday over the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will be free of rain most of the time. While there is a risk of a pop-up shower, these days should be the best bets for outdoor plans at the U.S. Open, amusement parks, ball games, sightseeing or the beach.

The weather is destined to turn more unsettled Sunday into Labor Day from the mountains to the beaches.

While these days will also bring their rain-free intervals, a system approaching from the Canada Prairies will increase the number and intensity of showers and thunderstorms.

Folks heading home from their Labor Day or late-summer ventures could encounter delays at the airports and on the expressways and interstate highways Monday/Monday night.
It will not be until a cool front swings through Tuesday, when humidity levels will be shaved and the risk of showers and thunderstorms diminishes.
